Sending newsletters
Send your first newsletter
Last updated June 30, 2026
This guide takes you from a blank newsletter to a sent campaign.
1. Create the newsletter
From Newsletters, start a new newsletter. Give it an internal name, then set the subject line and preheader your recipients will see.
2. Build the content
Use the editor to add and arrange blocks (text, images, buttons, and columns). Personalization tags let you greet contacts by name. Preview at any time to see how the email renders.
3. Choose your audience
Pick the segment or contacts who should receive the newsletter. Contacts are unlimited on every plan, so your whole list is available.
4. Connect a sending mailbox
The first time you send, Microsoft asks you to grant permission to send from your mailbox. This is the mailbox your newsletter is delivered from, using your real address and domain. On Free and Starter you send from your own user mailbox; Growth and Scale can also send from a shared mailbox or alias.
5. Send a test, then send
Send a test message to yourself first and check the rendering and links. When you are ready, send the newsletter. SimpleNewsletter365 paces delivery one recipient at a time to stay within your mailbox’s limits.
